Reviews
We chose this hotel spontaneously; difficulties arose with the booked accommodation, so we chose Union Plaza from the options offered.
It turned out to be a great hotel! We regretted not booking it right away. There is a good aroma from the entrance, a pleasant interior, the room is clean. The breakfast was also a pleasant surprise; in addition to the fact that it takes place on the 12th floor, with a view of the city, it has quite a variety of dishes.
Of the minuses:
1) We booked a double bed at booking, but they gave us a room with two single beds. In general, this did not affect our vacation, since these single beds did not move apart, and we stayed for 2 nights and because of this we no longer wanted to ask for a new room. However, we paid 300 lei more for a room with a double bed.
2) We had a problem with the door card. When, after opening the door, you have to put it in a special cardholder on the wall for electricity to appear in the room, it went off 3 times and the electricity turned off. It was a little annoying, but it didn't interfere with the rest.
3) There was no kettle or coffee machine in the room.
4) The window did not open “up”; only if you open the window completely, you can ventilate the room.
Some may be scared that the hotel is located away from the central districts. But in fact there were no problems with this, because it cost about 15 lei to get to the center by taxi, and 3 lei by bus. Buses run frequently and taxis arrive in 2 minutes. But for those who like to walk, then 15 minutes and you are in the center.
My stay at Union Plaza Hotel in Bucharest was overall a pleasant surprise. The room was spotless and had a modern, industrial vibe that I really liked. The view from the 12th-floor terrace was a standout, offering a beautiful panorama of the city. A few misses though: my room lacked a bathrobe and a hairdryer, which was a bit inconvenient. Also, note that there are no gym or pool facilities, so fitness enthusiasts might want to plan accordingly. Despite these minor issues, the cleanliness and views make it a solid choice for a Bucharest stay
The worst hotel i've entered in my life and not deserved that expensive prices. very bad service they are not qualified and they have NO basic meaning of service
1- The bed & pillows were not comfortable at all.
2- Air condition has problem
3- Telephone in the room has no connection for my 8 days staying and they keep saying we will fix and nothing happen. HOW !!!
4- They are not cleaning the room properly even if it's 3 star hotel it could be clean.
5- Spider bug was in the room and balcony. 1st and 2nd day couldn't clean unless I request them to clean, but balcony remain dirty!!!
6.Concrete block in the ceiling of the bed and they've said it's a decoration!!!!!
7. Electricity problem HOW IS THAT it European country !!!
Only BF has is good and the 2 gentlemen are presenting good service.
for my personal experience I'll never recommend that hotel.
my advice is don't waste your money on this hotel
The room was clean, elegant, and polished. We've had several complimentary bottles of water and toiletries. Loved the smell of lemongrass. There are plenty of mirrors everywhere. The overall feeling was of a modern look. I loved the decorum in the bathroom. The view is nice, especially from the skybar. Remote enough from the bustling city to be quiet and peaceful, but still close enough to the shopping areas and Casa Poporului, for the people who enjoy a walk. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. We ate well and we had a nice stay. Bonus points for parking, they have plenty of parking space. The concierge was especially helpful and kind enough to help me with my papers! Great service from the skybar as well, professional but friendly, pleasant staff. Good job!
The hotel is nice, but its trying to look more luxurious than its actually is.
Firstly i honestly booked it, because of sky bar which was closed during our staying, because of some renovation. Did not find any note, except when we arrived. Breakfast was good, but basic one, nothing special.
Room seems to be renovated, but i think quality of material is not the best. You can hear people from corridor into room, doors are really thin and when we were closing it, handle stayed in my hand several times. Bathroom looks nice, but it could have a hangers for towels and so.
It was okay staying, but really nothing extraordinary. Best thing about hotel is service in my opinion, which was always pleasant and helpful
Probably the worst hotel I've ever been in. Unfortunately, I paid 2 nights in advance and couldn't receive a refun nontheless the services were poor. If you want to stay there, I highly recommend going before making the booking.
On the day I came, I was early and wanted to leave my luggage and wait for the check in time. The lady on the reception told me the room was ready, and I was very happy to hear it since I've been traveling all night. Then, the nightmare began... The room key didn't work 2 times, both of which I had to go back to the reception using super slow elevators, as the tecnician nor the cleaning lady wanted to open the room for me. Then I was given another room, which was missing most of the basic stuff like slippers and hangers. When I called to get it, they took cca 15 minutes, and brought it after the second call. I started to unpack and then noticed the bed full of other people's hair, mostly on the pillow. At this point I didn't want to stay here and asked for a full refund as the experience was borderline disgusting. Of course they refused it and told me I would just get a clean room later. I came back around 13 and the receptionist told me I would have complimentary breakfast (which of course the waiters in the morining didn't know about and followed me telling I don't have brekfast included - pretty embarrassing). Free breakfast for sleeping in other people's hair?????? Where in the wide world is this a fair compensation?
On top of all that, the hotel isn't finished, so I thought it was brand new. I later found out that it has been operating for years. In all rooms I have been to, the ceiling was just concrete, as well as the walls on the reception.
I feel very sorry for few of the staff who are trying to make your stay better, but with an owner like this, it is mission impossible. People who own this hotel are a big embarassment for Bucharest, and Romania, where the service is usually solid to good. I decided to prolong my stay at another hotel, and will stay there next time.
We had an EX-CE-LENT lunch in their Amethyst Lounge bar and the service was great. Nice staff, goooooood food and nice view. In the night it is even more spectacular. Definitely gonna come back.
At 2nd night of 5 booked, Aircon in the room stopped working, reception was informed and they did something and aircon started and worked for 15 minutes, then stoped, reception was again informed and they did exactly the same, so aircon worked again for 15 minutes and stoped. When called for a 3rd time they hung up phone and didn't reply for a next 2 calls. As you understand, it was August, at room during night was very hot, uncomfortable and not possible to take proper sleep at night. Opened window to outside, but that didn't make it more better since noise came from cars and motorcycles passing by at nearby road.
No any assistance from reception and hotel staff was suggested i.e. change room etc.
Because of this had to move out after 2nd night of 5 nights booked, reception was informed that I want to get refund for 3 nights left, I did write email as they asked but again they ignored and nothing happened since that time.
Highly don't recommend this hotel because staff can't perform their duties to provide comfortable stay as they suppose to at 4 stars hotel.
